Rockland Breakwater
Rockland Harbor
Samoset Road
Rockland, ME

Many see the Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse sitting nearly a mile from shore and think the breakwater must have been built to connect the light with solid land. Not true. The breakwater was built first to provide a safe harbor for vessels, and the lighthouse was added later to keep ships from running into it.
